Singing Page
I have studied singing from the age of seventeen. As a student in York, I studied singing at the then 'De Costa Academy of Singing' and sang in the York University Chamber Choir and York Opera. I went on to sing whilst living and working in London with the English Chamber Choir and later Harrow Opera, and as a mature student I undertook courses in professional singing and opera at City Lit in Holborn. Now living and working in Cumbria, I have resumed singing studies with the 'York Academy of Singing' and sing with the Cumbrian choir 'The Wordsworth Singers'.
Whilst in London I organised and sang in concerts for charity with Harrow Opera singers and musicians.
Here are some recordings made in St John's UR Church in Northwood, London: In 2018 I sang 2nd Dryad in Harrow Opera's Rusalka and provided the illustration used for the flyer.
Roles I have had in fully staged opera productions: Dvorak "Rusalka" - 2nd Dryad (Woodsprite) (Harrow Opera 2018) Purcell “The Fairy Queen” – 'Night' and 'The Plaint' (City Opera 2016) Ravel “L’Enfant et les sortileges” - Teacup, Shepherd and Bat (City Opera 2015) Vaughan-Williams “Riders to the Sea” - Woman (City Opera 2015) Verdi “Macbeth” – Lady-in-waiting (Aylesbury Opera 2014) Mozart “The Magic Flute” – 2nd Spirit (Harrow Opera 2012) Mozart “The Marriage of Figaro” – Bridesmaid (Harrow Opera 2011) Cavalleria Rusticana – Lola (Harrow Opera 2010)
